I will update this post when my support ticket closes out or when i find that specific file/folder that suddenly allowed the service to work. but i have narrowed down the issue to a specific folder. I will a wait the official findings from my support ticket. I could 1 by 1 replace each file/folder to see which allows the service to start.but I have narrowed it down to the virtual desktop agent folder. Something in the Virtual Desktop Agent folder must have become corrupted.rebuilding the WMI repository didn't do anything, VDA cleanup, suddenly the service starts.the health check assistant passes all checks.the delivery controller is now showing the server IP and the 7.15 agent version. Next I piped into the test servers Virtual Desktop Agent ntrol+C.back on the PROD ntrol+V.replace all files. I got to thinking why is it failing only for PROD when DEV, TEST, TRAIN all are fine.so I checked the Citrix desktop service.checked the properties.found the brokeragent.exe is running at C:\ProgramFiles\Citrix\Virtual Desktop Agent folder. So after each repair and restart it still failed. So I tried repairing all the C++ redistributable 圆4 and x86 that were all installed on this server.a lot of the dll error messages that are similar usually had reinstalling the redistributable as a resolution. there are only 2 version.3 if you count the maintenance version. To answer your question the last vdisk merge base was done recently. I spent another day troubleshooting this issue. our other environments TEST DEV TRAIN all are working fine and register with the controller. Strange part is this is only a issue for PROD.
#Server vdi unregistered install#
Would I need to run the VDA clean up utility then install 7.15 VDA. To get the environment back up I reverted back to the vDisk with 7.12 VDA. One is a Application Error and the other is. brokeragent_error1.jpg and brokeragent_error2.jpg. On the XenApp server itself when it has the 7.15 VDA installed.shows error messages about BrokerAgent.exe please see attached images. I have uninstalled 7.12 and did a install of 7.15 VDA instead of just a 7.15 upgrade. Its only after performing the VDA 7.15 install the server does not register. I revert back to the previous vDisk version that has 7.12 VDA.that registers and shows the IP. Server is powered on.but the IP doesn't show and stays in unregistered state. PS C:\Test-NetConnection -ComputerName " Servers are 2012 R2 VMs on vSphere 6.0Īfter upgrading from 7.12 to 7.15 LTSR CU1 VDA agents on XenApp servers are not registering with Delivery Controllers.Īttached Image, VDA_not_registering.jpg, is from Studio on the Delivery Controller. It should return true if communication is successful: To test telnet connectivity follow these steps on both the VDA and DDC: In an admin powershell window run the following command. Decide if you want to stop the process or reconfigure the application in use to use another port. In this case, Apache server is using the processħ. Use tasklist to find the process using port 80Ħ. In the example above, process are using the port 80ĥ. In the output, the last column represents the process id that is using the portĤ. Type in (where serviceport is the portnumber being used, for example :80) If needed, resolve port conflicts to ensure the ports are available for the VDAs to use:Ģ. Also, there should be no issues with bi-directional telnet communications between DDC and VDA. Other options: Use /controllers to specify Delivery Controllers or Cloud Connectors. Citrix DaaS deployments: VDAWorkstationSetup.exe /quiet /servervdi. VDAWorkstationSetup.exe /quiet /servervdi. To resolve this issue, preview the ports currently in use in the Site and verify they are not being used by other applications. Use one of the following commands: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployments: XenDesktopVdaSetup.exe /quiet /servervdi.
